What are the ingredients of Concrete?

To make concrete a mixture of Portland cement and water make a paste. This paste is then mixed with aggregates such as sand and gravel, or crushed stone. As the mix dries, it harden and binds the aggregates into a rock-like mass, known as concrete.

Some mixes also include admixtures to improve the characteristics of concrete.

What is the difference between cement and concrete?

Cement and concrete are often used interchangeably, but they are not the same. Portland Cement is just one of many ingredients in Concrete Mixes that help add strength to the finished product.

Cement is to concrete, as flour is to a cookie.
